Helen Meutermans

Helen started as a Graduate Mechanical Engineer at AtkinsRéalis in September 2022, after graduating from the University of Sheffield with an MEng in Mechanical Engineering with a Year in Industry at Howdens Joinery. She is passionate about incorporating sustainability into her project work and encouraging young people to explore careers in STEM through mentoring schemes and organising work experience programmes. Helen’s notable projects have included DecarbonomicsTM and working across the Heathrow Asset Management and Compliance framework.

Karolina Prusicka

Karolina graduated from the University of Sheffield with an MEng in Architectural Engineering, including a Year in Industry. She is passionate about designing buildings that address both climate change mitigation and adaptation. During her placement with the sustainability and physics team at Buro Happold, Karolina gained experience in carbon accounting and energy modelling. This industrial experience provided a broader understanding of low-carbon design and inspired her dissertation topic.

Taylor McLaughlin

Taylor is a final year Apprentice HVAC Service & Maintenance Engineer for CubicWorks, working in their facilities management division for the past 4 years. Taylor is a highly competent engineer who demonstrates outstanding customer service skills, and has been commended by his colleagues, customers, and tutors alike. Following completion of his apprenticeship, Taylor is going onto a HNC in Building Services Engineering.

Dan Robins

Dan has been with AECOM for three years, gaining signifi cant experience on  various projects, primarily in the healthcare sector. He has worked on RIBA 2-4 designs for labs and hospitals, covering both mechanical and public health disciplines. For the past two years, Dan has been actively involved in running a Young Engineers Forum, aimed at teaching, informing, and supporting other young engineers. Outside of work, he enjoys playing badminton, football, and rock climbing. Recently, Dan has focused on a health kick by visiting the gym, while still making time for his passion for cars.
