The Data Centre Group brings together members from across the industry to collaborate on innovative, energy-efficient design solutions for data centres, paving the way for more sustainable networks.
Terms of Reference:
- To increase members' knowledge, skills, and awareness of relevant tools and techniques and encourage best practices to deliver efficient and practical design solutions for data centres
- Maintain building professionals' awareness of the latest developments in low or zero-carbon technologies, power systems and control architectures to provide sustainable solutions for energy efficient data centre facilities. Keeping building professionals aware of market conditions and government initiatives related to energy saving in data centre facilities.
- Identify and respond to trends and future developments in design and implementation, by providing timely, impartial information on design techniques and building technologies.
- To work with CIBSE to identify and support the research required to fill knowledge gaps, and propose and contribute to the development of new publications as well as help with the maintenance of and updates to existing guidance.
- To work with CIBSE to provide authoritative, accurate and independent information and influence policy where appropriate, supporting the implementation of relevant Standards and legislation.
- To seek collaboration with other groups within CIBSE, other institutions and organisations, and to initiate cooperation between academia and industry to resolve the problems of relevance to the industry.
- To provide speakers for CIBSE events, seminars and training courses, and to organise a programme of events for group members and interested parties in collaboration with CIBSE regions and societies, where appropriate.
