Experience Route (ACIBSE/MCIBSE holders)

The Experience route (ACIBSE/MCIBSE holders) is a route to gain Professional Registration with the Engineering Council for applicants without exemplifying academic qualifications. For this route you must already hold ACIBSE to gain IEng or MCIBSE to gain CEng.  If you do not already hold membership, visit our Professional Registration page to determine your route.

Applicants must demonstrate that they have had the opportunity to develop and practice their knowledge and understanding of underpinning engineering principles to the required level.

Eligibility 

• For Registration at IEng level, applicants are required to demonstrate they have reached a level of knowledge and understanding equivalent to a Bachelor of Engineering.
• For Registration at CEng level, applicants are required to demonstrate they have reached a level of knowledge and understanding equivalent to a Master of Engineering.

The application

What you'll need:

• Your completed IEng/CEng Experience Template (download below).
• Updated Engineering Practice Report (since your ACIBSE/MCIBSE Interview).
• Your Academic Qualification Certificates (if applicable).
• An organisation chart showing your position.
• Your Sponsor's name and email address.
• Your identity proof (passport, driver’s licence, national identity card etc).
• Credit or Debit card - the £122 Application fee is payable at this stage.
