FloControl Ltd

FloControl currently offer two CPD courses with our Masters of Engineering, with years of experience in FloControl and the building services industry.

The Variable Flow Systems Workshop starts with a recap of constant low systems and balancing and control principles with static valves. It then moves on to variable flow systems, why they were introduced, the various phases, i.e. DPCVs, Dynamic Valves, Pressure Independent Valves, Pressure & Temperature Independent Valves, as well as the benefits of the various options. Furthermore, the course takes a deep dive on PICVs, how they work, what makes a good PICV and design considerations for hydronic systems. PICV and ABV locations in the system. prefabricated solutions, system and terminal unit flushing methodology, actuation & control, end of line requirements and low flow pump protection strategies. The course ends with a teaser on Smart Energy Valves.

The Ultra-Low Flow Workshop begins with an introduction to the PICV and the industry definition of an Ultra-Low Flow Rate. It goes on to provide examples of ultra-low flow applications and the components therein, and discusses both the implications and limitations of PICVs. The course takes an in-depth look at system components, ultra-low flow tolerances, and the importance of accurate methodology, with multiple examples of setting flow rates and the produced effects when commissioning an ultra-low flow system.

Both sessions end with a free discussion and Q&A with your host.
