We are industry leaders in developing innovative technologies to provide cooling, heating, humidity and overall better air quality.
We are growing our CPD offering for 2023. We will be covering topics on the HVAC industry about Air Handling Units, Healthcare Estates, Data Centres, Chillers, Heat Pumps, Refrigerants and F-Gas.
AHU Compliance to HTM-03-01 (2021)
HTM-03-01 is the Healthcare Technical Memoranda, a publication by NHS England, supported by the British Government. It gives comprehensive guidance on the design, installation, and operation of engineering technology. This CPD focuses on the Air Handling Unit element of this document and explains what the main changes have been since the previous issue, and what the main design considerations are in-order for an AHU to be compliant with the guidance. This is a lengthy document and there has been a lot of confusion and non-conformity in the market. This CPD is designed for anyone wishing to fully understand the guidance to be able to confidently purchase an HTM-03-01-compliant AHU.
The benefits of air handling unit (AHU)
refurbishment in healthcare facilities
This CPD covers what an AHU refurbishment entails, detailing what parts can be refurbished and the various benefits of each upgrade, including case studies and projected energy and cost savings to the client.
It is not widely known that an air handling unit can be very effectively refurbished rather than replacing the entire unit. There are many benefits to this option, especially for healthcare and NHS facilities, where the cost and downtime associated with replacing the entire unit can be an issue, where AHUs are required to meet HTM-03-01(2021) guidelines, and where energy and CO2 reduction targets need to be addressed.

Optimisation AHU Design for Energy Efficiency and Carbon Footprint
Optimising energy efficiency in all building systems is a big topic right now, not only to meet energy efficiency and net zero targets, but to also reduce operating costs. Designing an AHU for energy efficiency is more complex than one might first expect, with certain challenges and design alterations having impacts elsewhere, so it is beneficial to understand these intricacies from the AHU design experts to be able to make the best choice for energy efficiency and unit performance.
