Modern Solutions for Domestic Water Services

In the UK, regulations mandate the installation of pressure-reducing valves and check valves in all new homes, whether apartments or houses, to control water pressure and prevent backflow. In this Continuing Professional Development (CPD) session, we extensively covered the intricate challenge of managing domestic water supplies in high-rise buildings, alongside the pertinent legislation and regulations governing them. The discussion encompassed various strategies for effectively managing water pressure, highlighting the pivotal roles played by pressure-reducing valves and backflow prevention devices in maintaining consistent pressure levels and preserving water quality. Additionally, we examined installation and maintenance considerations unique to high-rise environments, emphasising the need to address accessibility challenges and conduct routine inspections to uphold the reliability and longevity of water systems.

Dirt & air in commercial systems

In this Continuing Professional Development (CPD) module, we will explore the significance of dirt & air in commercial systems. The focus will be on dirt and air separators, detailing their importance and necessity in commercial buildings. We will discuss the various types of dirt and air separators, their working principles, and the reasons why they are essential for maintaining efficient system operations. Additionally, we will provide insights into commercial applications, such as large heating and cooling rooms, and offer guidelines for installation and maintenance. This CPD aims to equip professionals with the knowledge needed to optimize the performance and longevity of commercial systems.
