CIBSE Education Guild Formation Meeting

Welcome to the CIBSE Education Guild's formation meeting.

This is your opportunity to be part of the inaugural committee for the CIBSE Education Guild. The committee will draw members from education, industry, and CIBSE and will oversee the activities of the Guild and ensure alignment with its objectives and scope.

The main objectives of the CIBSE Education Guild are to:

• Bring together engineering educators from diverse backgrounds within the built environment.
• Discuss and develop new approaches to engineering education.
• Explore topics such as inspiring the next generation of professionals, addressing social and environmental issues, leveraging technology, and effectively preparing students for real-world challenges.
• Facilitate collaboration and knowledge sharing among educational providers nationally and globally.
• Enhance the reputation and visibility of outstanding teaching staff and students.
• Provide a focus for educational matters in building services engineering and related disciplines.

This is a great opportunity to shape the future of building services education.

The committee will have 4 principal officers (Chair, Vice Chair, Treasurer and Secretary.) The Chair and Treasurer must be corporate members of the Institution whereas the Secretary can be a member of the Institution in any grade, and the Vice-Chair and other members of the committee do not have to be members of the Institution.

The Education Guild's main committee meetings will be typically held 3 times per year, using online and/or in person meetings as appropriate. All officers would be expected to prepare, attend and take an an active part in the committee meetings and support the activities of the Guild, attending Guild events whenever possible but also promoting the activities of the Guild and being involved with planning and facilitation of activities.
