Professional Registration Application Assessors

Volunteer
10 Jun 24

We are looking for volunteers who are engaged members and hold either MCIBSE CEng or FCIBSE CEng. Ideally, you would have an academic background, or a good understanding of qualifications and a passion for maintaining professional standards in BSE. Panellists will review CEng, IEng and EngTech applicants who do not hold the requisite academic qualifications and assess their experience against Engineering Council standards. The assessors will also interview these candidates.

Training will be provided and is scheduled to be held virtually.

Position Description

  • To assess applications against set Engineering Council criteria to determine whether the candidate has met the learning outcomes and should proceed to interview.
  • Return your results within a two-week time frame.
  • Interview candidates against the set learning outcomes and competence criteria.

Time Commitment
ICP Panel members are required to review cases on their own time. Applications are sent to the Panel each month. Assessors will be expected to undertake some applicant interviews, to be arranged on an ongoing basis subject to availability. A yearly ICP Panel meeting will be held for process review and training. This is held online via Microsoft Teams.

Whilst the ICP Panel is a voluntary position without renumeration, it does count towards your CPD. We do pay a nominal fee for each interview undertaken.

Please email a brief CV to Jane Hanmer, Membership and Qualifications Officer [email protected] by 30 June.
