Repair Surveyor
Job Title: Repair Building SurveyorLocation: Bristol, Gloucester, WiltshireJob Type: Full-Time (39 hours a week) Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Repair Building Surveyor to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing and managing repair and maintenance projects across the housing stock portfolio. This role involves conducting detailed surveys, preparing reports, and ensuring that all repair work complies with relevant regulations and standards. The successful candidate will be reporting to the Complex Repairs Manager. You will carry out surveys of properties within your specified region, including Damp Mould and Condensation inspections. You will be responsible for diagnosing the cause of complex faults and failures and post inspections supporting your new company to ensure all work is delivered to the highest possible standard and within budget. What we are looking for, The successful candidate will be an experienced and knowledgeable Building Surveyor who has the ability to put customers first. Candidates are required to have the following attributes to be successful in this role. Experience of managing contractors. Excellent standards of customer care and the ability to deliver accurate and clear communications in writing, face to face or by telephone. Good IT skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office, housing, and property management systems. The ability to plan, organise and prioritise a heavy workload, whilst working on a mobile basis, keeping excellent records. Demonstrates the Guinness Behaviours. Full Driving Licence Key Responsibilities: Conduct comprehensive building surveys to assess repair and maintenance needs. Prepare detailed reports outlining the condition of buildings and recommending repairs. Develop and manage repair and maintenance schedules. Oversee and coordinate repair projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget. Ensure all repair work complies with health and safety regulations and building codes. Provide technical advice and support to clients and team members. Maintain accurate records of all inspections, reports, and project documentation. Qualifications: Educated to Level 4 (HNC in Surveying or Construction & Built Environment) or higher. Proven experience in building surveying, particularly in repair and maintenance. Strong knowledge of building regulations, health and safety standards, and construction methods. Your new company Hays is working with a principal contractor who require a Construction Quantity Surveyor to work on a range of projects within the NHS. Your new role Your day-to-day responsibilities will include procurement, management of subcontract accounts, cost planning, valuation and variations, commercial reporting and final accounts. What you'll need to succeed Relevant qualifications or trade background within construction. Experience working for a principal contractor is beneficial, particularly within the NHS.
