You will work on a broad range of commercial offices, schools and universities, hospitals, warehouses, listed buildings, hotels, and super prime residential developments. As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you'll be trusted to just get on with leading projects from inception to completion, whilst working with minimal supervision. This will include designing safe, economical, and reliable electrical systems, coordinating your electrical designs with other disciplines and undertaking site visits to monitor progress against the initial design. You'll also be involved with elements of management, fee proposals, and mentoring and monitoring the less experienced electrical design engineers. You'll lead projects internally and externally in respect of deliverables, resources and ensure their technical and financial success. Electrical Design Engineer - To £45K + Package I'm looking for an Intermediate Electrical Design Engineer to join an 80 strong, employee-owned multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy in London, that specialises in low carbon building design. Over the past 15years, they've developed a reputation for designing and delivering unique projects such as theatres, museums, galleries, schools, castles, cinemas, churches, universities and other listed buildings. Working as part of their 25 strong London office (multi-disciplinary engineers) you'll enjoy working on one off projects from concept to construction, typically with a construction value of £5M - £40M. You will be expected to be able to manage your own time and deliverables, mentor and help develop Graduate and Junior engineers, attend design team meetings, attend site meetings, and liaise directly with clients, architects and specialist external consultants. Senior Electrical Engineer

Your new companyThey are a growing SME that has opened a new office in London as well as their existing Manchester office. Having over 20 years of experience working on projects within the private and public sector, they have a steady and varied pipeline of work. They work on a range of projects including, commercial, retail, leisure, residential, education and industrial. The team here is very approachable and supportive, one where you will feel welcomed and a part of the M&E family. Your new role You will predominantly be involved in detailed electrical design, specification writing and managing client expectations on a range of projects, but your role may also involve site surveys and due diligence surveys and reports. Some of the more interesting projects include working with ITV for "I am a celeb", a new baboon house in Knowsley Safari Park to name a couple. This is an office-based role, where you will carry out site surveys, draft drawings and calculations. However, site meetings may happen sporadically. As this is a hands-on role in design, you will be working with relevant software that does include AutoCAD and/or Revit MEP. What you'll need to succeed You will need a degree or HND/HNC in electrical engineering or equivalent and should be able to establish and develop good working relationships with both professionals and clients through good written and verbal communication. You will need to be able to work with minimal supervision, prioritise your workload, to meet deadlines using a variety of design tools such as AutoCAD. The designed systems will comprise Naked Energy’s Virtu solar heat and power technology, which may be paired with heat pumps, thermal storage, PV and other low carbon technologies to provide low-carbon and carbon-free energy systems for C&I clients. The successful candidate will lead a small team, and be responsible for design projects from conception to completion, drawing in external engineers from electrical, structural and other disciplines as required. They will prepare costed designs of renewable heat and power systems, including P&ID designs, roof layouts of solar arrays, key component sizing and selection, demand and generation calculations, structural roof- and wind-loading analysis, cost engineering, CAD design, and construction phase planning. They will pay close attention to the health and safety aspects of the design, and will be comfortable signing off designs for which Naked Energy has design liability. The Principal Mechanical Design Engineer will also produce presentations and reports, participate in client meetings, and engage construction partners to provide costings. They will work with Naked Energy’s commercial team to tender for construction of the designed projects on the client’s behalf. Role Responsibilities: Design Design safe, reliable and economical renewable heating systems to meet the contractual scope of work and comply with the applicable standards and regulations Lead and grow a team of (presently) three engineers Sign off of all design work Work with minimal supervision Work alongside engineers, architects and other groups to develop design briefs Work to and uphold the highest health and safety standards Present to clients, delivery partners and other stakeholders Feed back to product and software teams to propose product improvements that can improve system performance and better fulfil client needs Work closely with Naked Energy’s commercial team to provide technical support and promote deal flow.
