Senior Electrical Design Engineer
Your new company Is a boutique Building Services consultancy that has been on a strong growth trajectory since it was created 12 years ago. They are now approaching 30 strong in London and have the pipeline to continue growing and have recently moved into a brand-new office space to accommodate this. They tend to work on a variety of interesting projects within the Heritage, Life Sciences, Commercial and Residential sectors. They also put a massive focus on work-life balance and offer a 9-day fortnight schedule in which you can pick a day off every 2 weeks and, ultimately, it works out as around 50 days total holiday a year. Your new role It is as a Senior Electrical Engineer who can work on the engineering design, management of projects and teams, across multiple multi-million pound projects. You will support the directors by acting as the design lead on projects, promoting design excellence, and you will mentor and develop the skills of the engineers in their team. You will be involved in the conceptual and detailed design of projects within the Heritage, Commercial and Life Sciences sectors. What you'll need to succeed You will have a strong technical core competence and background in project delivery. In addition, you will have a broad understanding of the principles of building services and other related building design disciplines and a desire to mentor and lead a team of Engineers. You must also be- Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering/Building Services. Proven experience (5+ years) in electrical engineering design within the building services industry. Experience leading junior engineers. Comfortable in a client-facing role and willing to contribute to business development activities. Experience leading teams on large-scale and often complex projects. Experience in the delivery of all phases of a project from inception to completion, but specifically, design and quality control focused and dealing directly with the customer and project teams. Experience and awareness of major digital engineering tools, such as CAD/Revit, and Amtech. You will also have experience of delivering projects in a BIM environment. Excellent interpersonal skills Ideally Chartered or willing to work towards. Senior Mechanical Engineer
Senior Mechanical Engineer - To £55K + Profit Share + Package + Almost fully remote role (Edinburgh) Due to growth, this Building Services Consultancy is looking for an additional Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to help design and deliver a range of interesting projects across Scotland. Current projects range from major decarbonisation and heat recovery projects with blue chip firms, CAT B office fit outs, surgeries, and upgrades of listed or cultural buildings. Working directly with the founding Director, a friendly and supportive Chartered Engineer (CEng, MCIBSE, MSc) you'll be responsible for HVAC design, attending meetings, and overseeing the installation of the mechanical building services systems on both new build and refurbishment projects. You will be fully supported in the role, but not micromanaged. You will be given the opportunity to lead your own projects from feasibility, design all the way through to construction. You'll enjoy a fully flexible, almost 100% remote role, and choose how many days a week you attend their office in Edinburgh, based on meetings and clients' requirements. Please note, this Senior Mechanical Design Engineer opportunity is with a start-up. So, you'll get a big say into the future direction and success of the business whilst being rewarded with a basic salary up to £55K, an annual 10% profit share and 25 days annual leave. Essential Requirements Minimum of four years' experience as a mechanical (HVAC / Building Services) design engineer. Previous experience working for a consultancy (ie Building Services, or multi-disciplinary) Ideally a member of CIBSE (Chartered Institute of Building Services Engineers) or IMech (Institute of Mechanical Engineers). Able to attend site meetings and client meetings around Scotland. Willing to attend the office once a week, if required. Must be a resident of the UK.
