BIM Coordinator (Building Services)

Your new company You will be working for a Mechanical and Electrical contractor that has been operating for over 20 years, that work with a range of different clients which involve large-scale public and private sector projects. They also offer more sustainable solutions for their clients.Your new role - Create detailed technical drawings and plans using CAD software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and NavisWorks. - Collaborate with engineers and architects to understand project requirements and specifications. - Interpret sketches, blueprints, and other design documents to create accurate 2D and 3D models. - Make necessary revisions to drawings based on feedback from project stakeholders. - Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations in all drawings. - Maintain organized files and documentation of all design work.- Produce drawings to issue for construction- Produce drawings to issue for construction- Maintain version control for all design-related content- Occasionally visit sites to ensure 3D designs work within existing facility- Occasionally visit sites to 3D scan existing plant rooms- Support and understand the design process by providing input and suggestion- Support and understand procurement processes by providing detailed drawings and specificationsWhat you'll need to succeed Proven experience as a CAD Technician or similar role for minimum 3 years. - Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD and Revit - Strong knowledge of technical drawing principles and practices. - Familiarity with building codes and regulations. - Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. - Ability to work independently as well as collaborate with a team. - Strong problem-solving skills. - Experience in Building Services and/or Renewable Energy sectors would be advantageous- Ability to understand P&IDS- Strong team player with good communication skills- Ok with occasional site visits- Open to learning new technologies and tools- Background in mechanical/chemical engineering or CAD diploma- Must be able to commute to Coventry officeWhat you'll get in return Salary of £30,000 to £45,000 depending on experience What you need to do now If you're interested in this role, click 'apply now' to forward an up-to-date copy of your CV, or call us now. Due to some key project wins, they are now looking to expand the team by hiring an experienced Senior Electrical Design Engineer with the view to put you on a promotion path as the business continues to grow. Your new role It is as a Senior/ Principal Electrical Engineer that will excel in engineering design, the management of projects and the management of teams, working on multiple projects including multi-million pound schemes. You will support the directors with the ongoing development of improved standards and procedures within the company, whilst taking the lead in managing everyday operations utilising their many years' of experience. You will act as design lead on projects, promoting design excellence, and you will mentor and develop the skills of the engineers in their team. Leading by example, you will ensure the highest standards of health & safety and quality. What you'll need to succeed You will have a strong technical core competence and background in project delivery. In addition, you will have a broad understanding of the principles of building services and other related building design disciplines and a desire to mentor and lead a team of Engineers. You must also be- Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering/Building Services. Proven experience (6+ years) in electrical engineering design within the building services industry. Experience leading and developing senior and more junior engineers. Comfortable in a client-facing role and willing to contribute to business development activities. Experience leading teams on large-scale and often complex projects. Experience in the delivery of all phases of a project from inception to completion, but specifically, design and quality control focused and dealing directly with the customer and project teams. Experience and awareness of major digital engineering tools, such as CAD/Revit, and Amtech. You will also have experience of delivering projects in a BIM environment. Experience of working with contractors. Previous experience of leading multi-disciplinary design teams and responsibility for budgets and programming. Commercial awareness essential with an understanding and ability to administer change control. Computer literate with all standard project design and development software. Strong communication skills will be required to interact with multiple internal and external teams and project stakeholders. The Individual: Demonstrable track record of technical achievement and client satisfaction within the MEP industry. Ability to apply technical knowledge in analysing problems and creating solutions.
