On Thursday 13 August 2026, CIBSE YEN London took over Green Park for its annual games in the park, sponsored by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries.
An evening in the sun
The heatwave did its best to get in the way, but it did little to put people off. From 6pm, young engineers from across London gathered on the grass for an evening of rounders, spikeball and rugby passes, with plenty of time to chat and network in between games.
The event was hosted by YEN London committee members Molly Behling and Jade Patel, who welcomed a good mix of familiar faces and first-time attendees. Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) provided the food and drinks for a picnic, which kept everyone fuelled and hydrated through the heat.
The rounders was billed as non-competitive. That did not last long, and the spikeball was every bit as fierce. As for who actually won, that is still up for debate.
Raffle prizes were handed out during the evening, and once the games were over, the MHI team led the celebrations on to a nearby pub.
