Engineers by day, footballers by night.
On Thursday 27 August, CIBSE YEN London swapped laptops for shin pads as young engineers from across the building services industry headed to Powerleague Battersea for our 5-a-Side Football Tournament.
It was a chance to meet new faces from other companies, catch up with familiar ones from the YEN London community and finally find out which of our colleagues can actually play.
The tournament
Eight teams took to the pitch at 5:30pm, made up of young engineers from firms across the industry. Among them was a CIBSE YEN London committee side, keen to prove we can do more than just organise events.
The results
Huge congratulations to Foster + Partners, who came out on top and took home the trophy. Bragging rights well and truly secured.
As for our committee team, they surprised a few people (possibly themselves included) by making it all the way to the final and finishing as runners-up. A special mention goes to one of the VES team, who swapped sponsor duties for a spot in the committee line-up.
