Session 4 Paper 2, CIBSE Technical Symposium, Liverpool John Moores University, Liverpool
11-12 April 2013

The UK is committed to reducing its CO2 emissions whereby dwellings are one of the key contributors. Background information used to generate the EPC calculation for over 116,000 dwellings in Northern Ireland was analysed. SPSS was used to extract the data and predict likely forms of construction used from pre 1919 to date. House plans were obtained from the public sector and subsequently IES was used to model their performance. The potential realisation of government CO2 reduction targets must be based upon accurate emissions associated across the entire sector of dwellings currently in use whilst considering buildability, cost and constructional performance.
