Over the summer the Society has been busy with various activities globally aiming once again to connect professionals and share knowledge across our industry.

SFE Italy Hub

In September, the SFE Italy Hub hosted another hugely successful event. Speakers from the design teams of Park Associati and Deerns guided enthusiastic attendees around the Luxottica Digital Factory, explaining the secrets and challenges of the facade design of this architectural masterpiece in Milan which won the “International Refurbishment” category at the SFE Façade Design and Engineering Awards last year.

SFE ANZ Hub

SFE ANZ hosted their sold out inaugural meeting of the Society of Facade Engineers – Victorian Chapter at Arup's Office in Melbourne. The evening contained various presentations including Simon Barnes highlighting the need for the dedicated Society and a presentation by Rob Buck, SFE ANZ Chair.

In September, At ZAK World of Facades in Melbourne, SFE ANZ Vice Chair Elissa Stirling presented in front of a large and engaged crowd, highlighting her perspective on the future of the facade engineering profession and the importance of the SFE ANZ Hub.

SFE London

In August, the SFE hosted our Summer Networking and Update event hosted by AKT II at their iconic White Collar Factory rooftop terrace.

The event included exciting updates from SFE Board Members about the Society's recent activities and upcoming plans and initiatives, both in the UK and across its global Hubs. The evening was an opportunity for members and non-members to catch up with old friends and meet new faces.

The SFE has continued its series of technical presentations in London, this time featuring Fibre Reinforced Polymer in Facades. Hosted by Schueco, the event showcased the Deichman Library in Oslo as a case study. Speakers included Michael Nagler from Roschmann UK, Daniel Pfanner from Bollinger+Grohmann, and Crucitti from Saimex Srl.
