Erkan Soydan

Erkan Soydan is a vertical-transportation (VT) consultant with more than 15 years of international experience across the UK, UAE, KSA and Türkiye. He is the Founder of Soydan VT Consultancy, an independent specialist practice based in Dubai.

His expertise includes lift and escalator strategy, design and advisory services for high-rise, mixed-use and large-scale developments. He holds a Master’s degree in Building Information Management (BIM) and has previously held senior positions with WSP, HDR, D2E and Schindler.

Erkan also represents the UAE on the CIBSE Society of Vertical Transportation (SoVT) Committee, contributing to the development and advancement of the vertical-transportation profession within the region.

His experience spans major international hospitality, aviation, infrastructure and government developments, with project experience exceeding USD 5.5 billion in capital value.

He is passionate about advancing engineering excellence, sustainability and professional development, and actively contributes to the profession as a CIBSE membership and CEng assessor, university external examiner and mentor to emerging engineers.
