CIBSE YEN NZ | Trical Electrical Switchboard Factory Tour

Have you ever specified a switchboard and wondered what happens after the design leaves your desk and reaches to site? Or wanted to better understand how the products and components you specify are actually manufactured, assembled and brought together? Sometimes, the best way to understand electrical switchboard's is to step away from the drawings and see the manufacturing process first-hand.

Join CIBSE NZ’s Young Engineers Network (YEN) for an immersive factory tour at Trical, one of New Zealand’s leading suppliers of electrical enclosures and switchboard solutions, with more than 60 years of experience serving the electrical industry.

This event is designed to give emerging engineers and building industry professionals a practical insight into the journey from engineering design and product selection through to manufacturing and finished electrical equipment. The primary audience is electrical engineers early in their careers, with the session also open to anyone across the wider building industry interested in understanding electrical manufacturing and switchboard solutions. The event is free to attend, and you do not need to be a CIBSE member.

The session will begin with an introduction to Trical and its product ranges, followed by the factory tour and ending with a presentation covering several topic's including:

• Specification of switchboards
• Testing requirements for switchboards
• Bus Ducts

Trical will provide an overview of its products and their applications across commercial, industrial and residential projects, including electrical enclosures, switchboards, metering and distribution solutions.

Attendees will then have the opportunity to explore the manufacturing facility and see how electrical enclosures and switchboard components are produced and assembled, gaining a better understanding of the processes, materials, engineering considerations and quality requirements behind the products commonly specified on projects.

Participants will take part in a guided factory tour, providing a behind-the-scenes look at the machinery, manufacturing processes and people involved in turning engineered products into finished electrical solutions. The tour will show boards with are currently in the manufacturing process.

This is a great opportunity to connect design with manufacturing, ask questions directly to industry experts and gain practical knowledge that can be applied to your electrical engineering projects.
