In recent years, the building sector has seen an increased demand for buildings with high energy efficiency and good indoor climate. This stems both from a pull from certification systems as well as a push from legislation. Constantly changing, the building design process is evolving with new tools and methods being introduced into the market. With the increased requirements on our buildings, a facade has come to play an increasingly important role in design. One example is balancing solar heat gain and daylight. For buildings with a high proportion of glass, which is becoming more common, the balancing process is vital, and the choice of glass and solar shading is crucial for a successful project.
