Speaker's Biography:
In 1979, at the age of 18, I joined South East Thames Regional Health Authority in Croydon as a junior engineer having thought that my school technical drawing skills could be put to good use.
On day one I quickly learned that the art of Rotary Ink pens was a far cry from pencil drawings and subsequently went home with ink all over my hands and clothes!
I graduated in 1986 from the National College London, known then as the South Bank Polytechnic.
Having been sponsored for 4 years by the health service I was obliged to return for a period of time before leaving to th world of consulting engineers where I remain today with my own practice and 46 years of experience.
Unlike many other sectors such as Structural engineering where my brother currently resides, building services were previously somewhat simplistic until things changed and climate change brought us into the spotlight!
