TM65 Embodied carbon calculation in building services and student prize giving

This TM65 CPD examines the differing methods of calculating embodied carbon at the basic, medium and EPD levels and then explores the impact of the omission of operational carbon, which is currently excluded from TM65 calculations, including examples to demonstrate the impact of these emissions. The presentation also seeks to provide clarity on data presentation and comparisons between manufacturers, the information manufacturers are likely to provide, and how these environmental guidelines are likely to impact future luminaire designs. The session concludes by clarifying some of the limitations with the current system, and summarises with key considerations when seeking to minimise whole life carbon.
