Building Services Explained for FMs (3 Days)

This three day course covers building services found in commercial buildings. The course looks at heating and cooling systems, how to use them efficiently and how they fit within a building. Electrical and renewable systems are also covered allowing the delegate to understand how they can have a considerable impact on the buildings energy use.

This 1 day introductory course takes the delegate through the different types of heating and cooling systems available for commercial complexes, includes guidance on effective maintenance and management of building services and pertinent legislation affecting building services. It is an ideal course for those who have found themselves in the position of the maintenance and management of commercial building services but without formal training.

The aim of this course is to introduce the project manager role and review the CIBSE/CIOB/RIBA/RICS/ICE Code of Practice for Project Management, explain the strategies and give practical advice on successful project management.

Running projects effectively is a combination of employing good project management skills on projects with the knowledge of the particular techniques that will improve project performance.  This course endeavours to provide some of this data.

Effective Management of Operational Risk in Buildings

The Commissioning Process

Commissioning is a quality assurance process that enables project teams to produce better buildings and provide a better service to their clients. This course will take delegates on a project journey from inception to post-handover.  It will outline the key commissioning process activities that need to take place in order to deliver buildings that work in accordance with the requirements of client stakeholders.
