Brand new Lighting Guide 4: Sports Lighting now available

The Society of Light and Lighting (SLL) has launched the latest revision of Lighting Guide LG4: Sports Lighting. There have been considerable developments since the previous edition, published in 2006, with an addendum in 2015, in both technologies and emerging sports. This guide is based only on the use of light-emitting diode (LED) light sources.

The theme this year is reuse, recycle and repurpose. The Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy (BEIS) are seeking views on a proposal to update the ecodesign requirements for lighting products from 2023 and 2027. It is proposing to require that lamps offered for sale in Great Britain have a minimum energy performance of 120 lm/W by 2023 and 140lm/W by 2027. The proposal also highlights some exemptions.

Scott Kluger, Senior Daylight Designer at Hoare Lea was named SLL Young Lighter 2022 following the competition finals in December.
