The CIBSE Young Engineers Network (YEN) is off to a dynamic start across Australia and New Zealand, fostering collaboration, connection, and community-building through engaging initiatives. Here's a roundup of recent activities from YEN chapters making waves in the region:

A Collaborative Step Toward Sustainability in NSW

YEN NSW is joining forces with CIOB’s Tomorrow’s Leaders to host a thought-provoking panel event on sustainability on 2 April. Professionals from all corners of the industry are encouraged to register and be part of the conversation. Register here

Board Games and Bonding in Auckland

Not all gatherings are business-focused—YEN Auckland started the year with a refreshing, casual approach by hosting a board games night last week. The event brought together engineers from a diverse range of disciplines and companies across the wider Auckland region. With a full house and a buzz of enthusiasm, the evening was a resounding success. The YEN NZ committee is optimistic about the year ahead, with plans to roll out initiatives blending technical knowledge, social engagements, and outreach to students. Keep an eye on this vibrant group!

Across Australia and New Zealand, CIBSE’s Young Engineers Network continues to demonstrate the importance of fostering professional growth and camaraderie among emerging talent. Whether through collaborative events, casual socials, or pioneering new committees, YEN is building a stronger community for the engineering leaders of tomorrow. Stay tuned as more exciting opportunities unfold in 2025!
