On Monday 28 August 2023, CIBSE ANZ signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB).
CIOB Chief Executive, Caroline Gumble’s visit to the region, was an ideal opportunity to strengthen the commitment our institutions have towards promoting awareness of key issues in the built environment locally, advancing the knowledge of best practice for our members and pledging our support to work together to do so where possible.

The signing was officiated at the CIOB Property Economic Update breakfast event in Sydney.
CIBSE ANZ Chair, Phil Senn feels strongly about a collaborative approach to tackling reform and promoting competence.
“The building sector requires strong collaboration between design and construction professionals to deliver sustainable, scalable solutions for the built environment. By formalising a partnership between CIOB and CIBSE ANZ, we will improve access to shared knowledge, and work together to solve numerous challenges, the largest of which is how we transition the built environment toward net zero emissions across construction, and operation, incorporating circular economy thinking.”
CIBSE ANZ looks forward to a healthy partnership with the CIOB, delivering many joint events in the coming months and years.
In light of this new collaboration, CIOB members are invited to register for the next CIBSE ANZ panel webinar at the member rate of $10.
