It is with great sadness that we recognise one of our CIBSE YEN ANZ members, Yan Huang, who passed away last month. Yan was a hydraulic engineer at Harris Page Associates and a keen, active member of the CIBSE YEN New South Wales chapter committee, to which he contributed heavily during his tenure.
He was a committee member for over four years and was key in championing many events – YEN NSW Trivia, Aspirational Engineer Panel, and Networking Visits at universities – just to name a few. He developed the structure of these events into the successes they are today, and his contributions will be carried forward. Thanks to his efforts, young engineers in our industry will continue to develop their technical and soft skills.
He was often the first to volunteer for spearheading events and inspired others to do the same. During meetings and events, he displayed great regard for his peers and would take every opportunity to find humour in all types of situations. His presence and contributions to the group will be sorely missed.
Our thoughts and condolences are with Yan’s family and friends. We look forward to carrying forward his legacy.
