Under the Building Safety Act building control professionals will in future have to register with the Building Safety Regulator (BSR).

There will be a Code of Conduct setting out the standards of professional conduct and practice that registered building inspectors are expected to meet. The Code of Conduct sets out mandatory principles of conduct and standards of behaviour applying to all who wish to register with the Building Safety Regulator as a registered building inspector (RBI), whether they work in the private or public sector.

The Regulator is now consulting on the draft Code and this is available on HSE’s Consultation Hub. The consultation is open until mid February and CIBSE will be responding to the consultation.

For further details go to the CIBSE Consultation webpage and to submit contributions to the CIBSE response please email [email protected] before 10 February 2023.
