This Earth Day, taking place on Tuesday 22 April 2025, the global call to action is loud and clear: Our Power, Our Planet. The campaign urges individuals, organisations, and governments around the world to unite behind renewable energy and work collectively to triple the generation of clean electricity by 2030.
At the heart of this year’s theme lies Earth Action Day—a rallying moment encouraging all of us to take tangible steps to educate, advocate, and mobilise in support of a greener, more resilient planet.
At CIBSE, we are proud to stand in support of this important day and its mission.
CIBSE has long championed sustainable engineering solutions, the transition to low-carbon energy and the development of best practice guidance to help professionals deliver net-zero-ready buildings. From our TM65 guidance on embodied carbon, to the CIBSE Climate Action Plan, and our commitment to in-house tailor-made training in sustainability and energy efficiency, we are actively supporting the shift towards a decarbonised built environment.
Our members are at the forefront of designing and managing systems that reduce emissions and improve building performance—from heating and cooling to lighting and ventilation. Every kilowatt saved, every cleaner watt generated, contributes to the vision of Earth Day 2025.
As we look to 2030 and beyond, CIBSE will continue to work with industry partners, policymakers and our community of engineers to accelerate progress and share knowledge.
This Earth Day, we invite everyone to reflect on the power we hold—collectively and professionally—to shape a cleaner energy future.
Our Power. Our Planet. Our Responsibility.
