CIBSE is thrilled to announce that several of our esteemed members have been honoured as Fellows of the Royal Academy of Engineering for 2024. This prestigious accolade recognises individuals who have made significant contributions to the engineering profession and the built environment, showcasing the high standards of excellence within our community.

We’re pleased to share that 71 leading figures from the world of engineering and technology have been elected to the Fellowship this year. Elected at the Academy’s AGM, this year’s cohort has made outstanding contributions across various fields, driving innovation, advancing business and academic progress, offering expert advice to government, and promoting a broader understanding of engineering and technology.

The following CIBSE members have received this distinguished fellowship:

  • Chris Cole: Honorary FCIBSE, CEng

  • Professor Hussam Jouhara: FCIBSE, CEng

  • Professor Xudong Zhao: FCIBSE, CEng

Additionally, Professor Ian Ritchie has been awarded the title of Honorary Fellow (HonFREng). An Affiliate of the Society of Façade Engineering (SFE), Professor Ritchie’s leadership and vision have played a crucial role in shaping the future of façade engineering.

By joining the Fellowship, these outstanding engineers bring their unique expertise and experiences to support the Academy’s mission: leveraging the power of engineering to build a sustainable society and an inclusive economy for everyone.

This recognition not only highlights the individual achievements of our members but also emphasises CIBSE’s commitment to fostering a community of excellence and innovation in engineering. We are immensely proud of their accomplishments and grateful for their ongoing dedication to advancing our profession.

Join us in congratulating our members on this well-deserved honour, and thank them for their continued commitment to excellence within the engineering community.
