The CIBSE ANZ Young Engineers Awards are shining a spotlight on the brightest rising stars in building services engineering. This year, we’re thrilled to announce a powerhouse panel of judges who bring a wealth of leadership, industry insight, and passion for sustainability and innovation.
Joining the 2025 judging panel are:
- Panel Chair: Niro Siriwardena, Project Manager at Turner & Townsend and Chair of the CIBSE ANZ Young Engineers Network (YEN), a dedicated advocate for emerging professionals and sustainable excellence in the built environment.

Davina Rooney, CEO of the Green Building Council of Australia (GBCA), a trailblazer in sustainable transformation and a champion for a greener built environment.

Amanda Searle, CEO of ARBS Exhibitions, whose leadership connects institutions and industry professionals, and showcases cutting-edge building services technologies.

Steve Slater, Engineering Talent Specialist, Seber Recruitment – bringing deep insight into the evolving needs of the engineering workforce.

Professor Sara Wilkinson, Sustainable Property Expert, UTS – a leading academic voice in sustainable development and property innovation.

Jason Yang, Senior Sustainability Engineer, Arup – delivering technical excellence and future-focused solutions in sustainable design.
Together, these judges will evaluate entries across five prestigious categories:

The Awards celebrate not only technical brilliance but also leadership potential, creativity, and a commitment to shaping a more sustainable future. Finalists will be invited to the Awards Ceremony, where they’ll connect with industry leaders and peers from across the ANZ region.
