Taking place on Thursday 7 August 2025 at the CIC Zero Carbon Building in Kowloon Bay, in Hong Kong, this event will provide valuable insights into how digital innovation is reshaping building performance.
The seminar will cover a wide range of topics related to the control and optimisation of building systems and equipment. Sessions will examine the application of digital twins, artificial intelligence, IoT with wireless mesh networks and the growing matrix of software, communication protocols and data management tools used to support carbon reduction and improve occupant wellbeing. The line-up includes respected speakers from across the industry. Ir Ethan Poon, Chief Engineering Manager at MTR Corporation Limited and Chair of CIBSE Hong Kong Region, will speak on the topic “Smart Thinking: AI-driven Energy Savings”, highlighting how AI is transforming energy management in complex building systems. Ir Hyvan Wong, Managing Director for China and Hong Kong at Mott MacDonald and Past Chair of CIBSE Hong Kong Region, will present “Beyond Lighting Installation – IoT Structure”, offering insights into the wider integration of IoT technologies in building infrastructure. Ir Peter Y Wong, Director of Yook Tong Electric Co., Ltd., and former President of both HKIE and CIBSE, will speak on “IoT cum LoWPAN and Typical Building Management Control”, exploring how wireless networks and IoT can enhance traditional building management systems.
