CIBSE expand building services embodied carbon calculation methodology to support engineers internationally

CIBSE is launching an addendum to TM65, the embodied carbon calculation methodology published in 2021. TM65 Embodied carbon in building services: Using the TM65 methodology outside the UK (TM65LA) is designed to create global consistency on how the embodied carbon of building services equipment can be assessed.

Professional Qualified Person (PQP) card for construction site access now available through the SLL

The Electrotechnical Certification Scheme (ECS) is now accepting applications from members of the Society of Light and Lighting (SLL) for the Professionally Qualified Person (PQP) card, providing construction site access. Providing you are an active member that has renewed their SLL membership subscription for 2022, you will be eligible to apply for the PQP card.

CIBSE Golden Thread series explores the scale and implementation of the Building Safety Act

CIBSE launched its brand new Golden Thread series at the RIBA on 14 September, with keynote speakers, Dr Hywel Davies, CIBSE Technical Director and Chair of the Building Regulations Advisory Committee, and Hanna Clarke, Digital and Policy Manager for the Construction Products Association (CPA). There were also several presentations and panel discussions with representatives from the British Standards Institution (BSI), the National Fire Chiefs Council, London and Quadrant Housing Association, Foster + Partners and Arup, amongst others.
