Lapsed more than one, but less than three years

If you held a corporate grade membership i.e. Licentiate, Associate, Member or Fellow and your membership has lapsed for more than a year but less than three years, you can still reinstate easily.

Please note that reinstating your membership requires payment of both a reinstatement fee and the current year’s membership subscription fee. Where applicable, any Engineering Council back fees will also need to be paid.

How to reinstate?

• Step 1: Log in to your MyCIBSE account
• Step 2: Update your contact details (address, phone, and email)
• Step 3: Contact the CIBSE membership team via Email or call us on +44(0)20 8772 3650, to confirm your intent to reinstate and verify the total fees due
• Step 4: The membership team will connect with you and confirm the amount of your reinstatement and outstanding renewal fee
• Step 5: You will be required to submit your CPD records for the last 12 months, which will be reviewed by a CPD Panel. This might take up to 2 weeks
• Step 6: You will receive a link via email to pay the outstanding fee
• Step 7: Pay the outstanding fee and the reinstatement process is completed
• Step 8: You will receive an email confirmation that your membership has been renewed

No reassessment of membership status is required.
