Part-time students

This membership grade is designed for students aiming to build a strong foundation in building services engineering while focusing on their studies and work commitments, including apprenticeships. You will have to pay an annual subscription of £48.

Membership fees across all member grades help:

  • Support the creation, maintenance, and distribution of a wide range of technical resources, publications, standards and other resources that make up our Knowledge Portal.

  • Contribute to the organisation of our events, conferences and various networking opportunities, which our members attend at discounted prices.

  • Fees help develop career development services, that include mentoring programs, job listings, career guidance, etc.

  • Support educational initiatives such as scholarships, awards and grants.

  • Maintaining our various special interest groups which provide the opportunity for engagement, collaboration and collective thinking, learning and debate.

  • To maintain our quality of service and product offerings, fees support in the development of new products and resources, where we try and advance the discipline of building services engineering through research and development.
  • Create an Account
    • If you don't already have an account, you will need to create one on the CIBSE website.
    • This will involve sharing your personal details and creating a login.

  • Meet the eligibility criteria
    • Ensure and verify that you are enrolled as a part-time student
    • That you are studying a course related to the STEM fields

  • When preparing to submit your application
    • Please provide us with your personal details as requested (name, contact details, etc.)
    • Your course and education institution's details
    • Proof of student status
    • Process an annual membership fee of £46 when submitting your application

  • On successful submission of your application
    • CIBSE will review your application
    • This review might take a few weeks
    • If your application has been successfully processed, you will receive an email confirmation from CIBSE with the details of your student membership

    • On receipt of your membership details, enjoy the numerous benefits that come with being a CIBSE member
  • Anyone studying a part-time STEM course i.e. Science, Mathematics, Technology or Engineering

  • This can include but is not limited to courses at an undergraduate level, focused on:

  • You should be actively engaged in your course / study program, in addition to any other work commitments that you may be involved in
