Student membership is a grade for those who are currently studying on a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics course.
Student membership gives you access to all the CIBSE membership benefits including free unlimited downloads on our Knowledge Portal, a monthly CIBSE Journal subscription and discounts on training and events. You can also join CIBSE’s Groups with your Student membership.
Please note, this grade of membership does not offer the use of any designatory letters.

Become a member
Prepare the following information and documents before joining:
- Full details of your course
- Proof of enrolment in English (or with English translation) - in PDF format. This should confirm your course start and end dates, and whether your course is full-time or part-time.
Once submitted, your documents will be subject to an internal review. You might not be granted membership if required information is missing.
When your course ends, your Student membership will automatically be upgraded to Graduate membership. Changes to your membership will be made in October of your course completion year.
The subscription fee is £48.00 for part-time students/apprentices and free for full-time students.
