Time commitment: Around 2 hours per quarter, plus additional time to support the Chair as required

Duration: 3-year commitment, though you can step down beforehand

Vacancies: Roles can be shared if needed*

Requirements: Corporate membership (ACIBSE, LCIBSE, MCIBSE, FCIBSE)

Responsibilities: The Vice-Chair of a CIBSE Special Interest Group Committee is responsible for supporting the Chair in fulfilling their duties.

Overview:

Are you organised, enthusiastic, and interested in helping others learn and connect?

We're looking for volunteers to help lead the Special Interest Groups by becoming a Vice-Chair. 

You’ll work with a friendly team of volunteers to provide technical events for members, opportunities to contribute to CIBSE knowledge publications and training, as well as lead the committee in the Chair's absence. 

What you’ll do:

  • Deputise for the Chair at committee meetings and when representing the Special Interest Group
  • Support the Chair by providing your opinions and expertise
  • Working with the Chair, Honorary Treasurer and Honorary Secretary to ensure the committee delivers on their planned activities within the agreed budget and to help plan the following year's activities.
  • Facilitating connections between your committee and others
  • Chairing technical events
