Responsibilities: The Chair of a CIBSE Special Interest Group Committee provides leadership and direction for a CIBSE Special Interest Group Committee.
Overview:
Are you organised, enthusiastic, and interested in helping others learn and connect?
We're looking for volunteers to help lead the Special Interest Groups by becoming a Chair.
You’ll work with a friendly team of volunteers to provide technical events for members, opportunities to contribute to CIBSE knowledge publications and training, as well as lead the committee to provide for the members of the Special Interest Group.
What you’ll do:
- Chair committee meetings, which are set by the committee members. You'll need to approve the agendas and minutes drafted by the Honorary Secretary.
- Work with the Vice Chair, Honorary Treasurer and Honorary Secretary to ensure the committee delivers on their planned activities within the agreed budget and to help plan the following year's activities.
- Facilitate connections between your committee and others.
- Chair the Annual General Meeting and present the activities of the Group to the members.
- Represent your Special Interest Group at the CIBSE Groups and Societies Meeting and CIBSE Council, and inform your committee of the discussions and decisions made (except when these are confidential.)
- Represent the views of your committee and members externally, working with CIBSE marketing or with other organisations.
