SoPHE Regional Representatives

Volunteer
17 Jan 24

The Society of Public Health Engineers (SoPHE) are looking for representatives for their West Midlands and Scotland Regions.

In this role, you will be the focal point to the planning of regional events which may include online webinars, in person technical presentations / CPD’s and possible panel discussions, and any celebratory events associated with the SoPHE Region.

The aim of the Society events is to not only act as a member benefit, but to give the Society membership an opportunity to have access to CPD’s, technical information & network with people from across the Industry.

As well as acting as the “lead” to an event, the Regional Representative will be expected to assist on the day / evening; welcome speakers & guests alike, ensuring that everyone is familiar with the agenda of the event; ensure that all necessary IT equipment, etc., is available & functioning correctly; to introduce themselves to guests & members as an approachable figure of the event, ensuring that CIBSE’s behavioural policy is adhered to.

The Regional Representative will have a large amount of communication to deal with, not necessarily on a daily basis; they should liaise with the CIBSE Member Networks and Engagement Team, & - in turn – receive a considerable amount of support from CIBSE members of staff with events experience.

The Regional Representative will be expected to report updates & progress at the Society’s Steering Committee meetings (held every other month in person and via MS Teams) & are encouraged to collaborate with the other CIBSE Society, Groups, Regions and Young Engineers Networks, as well as creating / forging links with other Societies / Institutions within the Industry, for example CIWEM, CIPHE, IHEEM, WMSoc.

Not only is this a great opportunity to network and leave a positive impact on the public health industry, volunteering for a CIBSE Society contributes to your CPD requirements.
