Get involved in our Special Interest Groups! Our Special Interest Groups cut across different specialised areas of engineering. Keen members of the Groups are encouraged to take part in the organisation of these activities by joining the committees.

The Resilient Cities Group (RCG) looks beyond the individual building to see its impact in the wider city, and globe. How does the design of the built environment lead to a more sustainable future? What lessons can we learn from ancient cities as well as the modern cities today? How does a city recover from natural disaster? What is the role of the building engineer in the resilience of a city? These are the questions that the RCG asks and debate.

Reasons to join a CIBSE committee:

  • Increasing your network by meeting like-minded individuals that can mentor you within the context of your special interest and people outside your local area
  • Attending the committee meetings counts towards CPD
  • Developing your soft skills including, but not limited to, event organisation; professional writing skills; presentation skills; networking skills, and more!

The activities of each Group are led by the committee; join today to help shape the future of the Resilient Cities Group.
