Responsibilities: The Honorary Secretary of a CIBSE Regional Committee is responsible for

  • Preparing agendas for all meetings of the committee
  • Acting as secretary for the business part of each committee meeting
  • Keeping all regional records. CIBSE have provided Microsoft Teams which can be used as a repository for committee records
  • In conjunction with the Chair, liaising between the Region and CIBSE HQ
  • Advising the Chair on procedures for meetings, votes, motions, application of the rules etc.
  • Ensuring that CIBSE HQ has up-to-date information on Regional events
  • Notifying Officers, nominated candidates and members, of their selection, nomination or appointment

Description: Getting involved in your local CIBSE region is a great way to grow your network, boost your skills, and shape and influence the work of CIBSE. 

The CIBSE regions hold technical and social events, support local members through the application process, promote building services engineering as a career and much more. Get in touch to find out how you can get involved. 

Number of hours required: Approx. 12 hours in meetings and 10 hours of additional work per year.

Contributing to your regional committee counts towards CPD.
