Associate

This is the entry grade for all new members of the Society with experience and/or
qualifications who intend to to transfer to member grade.

Associates of the Society can use the designatory letters AMSFE. Associates will normally be required to satisfy one of the following criteria:

1. Have had relevant experience in facade engineering over a period of at least five years and has attained a position demonstrating a level of competence in facade engineering illustrated in the scope of experience form.
2. Have undertaken a full or part time course at Diploma level in facade engineering recognised by the Society,  and have a minimum of three years' relevant experience in facade engineering.
3. Hold membership at a professional grade of CIBSE, IStructE, ICE, RIBA or another relevant institution and have a minimum of three years' relevant experience in other aspects of facade engineering.

Applicants who have different but equivalent experience, education, training and qualifications, will be considered.

Applicants should also show evidence of a commitment to continuing professional development (CPD).

All applications for Associate grade must be accompanied by a 'scope of experience form', copies of relevant certificates and the relevant fee.

The subscription fees applicable are only the CIBSE subscription fees, at
CIBSE Affiliate grade. If you are already a CIBSE Affiliate or higher grade, no additional fees are required.
