SDE Digital Awards 2024

The Society of Digital Engineering Awards look to recognise anyone who works in the built environment who is contributing to the digitalisation of what we do, where we live and how we experience it.

That could be a technician, engineer, developer, designer, contractor, manufacturer or any group or team who is making a difference in their field, whether this is related to a project, innovation or individual’.

Entries for the 2024 awards are now open and the full list of categories, divided into People, Organisations, Product/Technology and Processes can be found below along with the links to enter.

From all the category winners we will choose the Digital Champion. This will be the entry that our judges feel best exemplifies what the Society of Digital Engineering stands for and whose contribution to our industry deserves special recognition.

The awards will be presented at Build2Perform on 14 November 2024.

Celebrating and recognising excellence in the people involved in digitalising our built environment

Up-and-coming Digital Champion

A person who is in the first five years of their career and whose contribution to digitalising the built environment rises above their peers and singles them out as an up-and-coming star of our industry.

Organisations

Celebrating and recognising excellence in the organisations of any size whose work contributes to the digitalisation of our built environment leading to better outcomes for those within it.

Best Consultancy

The consultancy (of any size) whose contribution to the digitalisation of our built environment deserves to be recongnised and celebrated. This could be through development of new digital tools and technologies, implementation of technology into their processes or through the provision of amazing careers paths for those connected to the digitalisation of their work. This category may be split into size-based awards depending on the entries.

Best Product Manufacturer

The manufacturer of physical products whose contribution to the digitalisation of our built environment deserves to be recongnised and celebrated. This could be through development of new digital tools and technologies, implementation of technology into their processes or through the provision of amazing careers paths for those connected to the digitalisation of their work. This category may be split into size-based awards depending on the entries.

Best Contractor

The contractor whose contribution to the digitalisation of our built environment deserves to be recongnised and celebrated. This could be through development of new digital tools and technologies, implementation of technology into their processes or through the provision of amazing careers paths for those connected to the digitalisation of their work. Best Software Developer

The developer of software tools and products whose contribution to the digitalisation of our built environment deserves to be recongnised and celebrated. This could be through development of new digital tools and technologies, implementation of technology into their processes or through the provision of amazing careers paths for those connected to the digitalisation of their work. This category may be split into size-based awards depending on the entries.

Product/Technology

Celebrating and recognising innovation and progress in the development of new products and technologies which contribute to and enable the digitalisation of the built environment directly leading to better outcomes for those who experience it.

Best new digital technology

A product which has been released after 01 December 2023 which demonstrates outstanding innovation and progress enabling the industry or built environment to benefit from digital resources in new or improved ways.

Processes

Celebrating and recognising the projects, processes and collaborations whose use of digital technologies demonstrate the passion, innovation and excellence within our industry to continue to digitalise our built environment to the betterment of the communities that it serves.

Best project or collaboration

The project or collaborative process which best demonstrated the use or development of digital technologies in furthering the digitalisation of the built environment directly resulting in outcomes which better served the community that it impacted.

Best use of technology in the built environment

An open award which celebrates the best use of digital technology in our built environment. Whether through an original application of digitalisation, increasing the reach of digitalisation or simply by improving a process in an outstanding way, we seek to recognise and celebrate those who continue to innovate and create better outcomes for the societies that our work impacts.
