In October, we hosted the SFE Alumni event at the The Marquis Cornwallis, Bloomsbury.
This event was primarily directed at alumni from the following postgraduate courses who are currently working in, or are curious about, the Facade Engineering sector: University of Bath: MSc Facade Engineering, MSc Modern Building Design, MSc Environmental Design, University of the West of England, MSc Facade Engineering and EFN Approved Facade Engineering courses.
As part of the event we were keen to get feedback from attendees in the form of a survey. The SFE Board have exciting plans for the Society in 2025, and it is important that our plans match the needs and expectations and those working in industry, both member and non-members.
The survey received a good level of response from both members and non members working at a range of organisations and has allowed us to learn more about what people value in terms of our output and activity. The top three ranked member benefits were, community and networking via the SFE hubs, free access to SFE technical evenings and the use of post nominals for those who have achieved professional grades of SFE membership.
We received positive feedback around what people would like to see moving forward, with recurring suggestions including continuing high quality events, networking, and focusing on the Building Safety Act, all of which will feature in our activities for 2025.
We used a Net Promoter Score (NPS) to assess weather or not attendees would recommend the SFE to a friend of colleague. We are delighted to say that we received an NPS of 79 which is considered 'excellent' for industry standards.
The SFE are always looking for feedback and fresh ideas, if you want to help shape the future of façade engineering please do not hesitate to contact [email protected].
