Prior to stepping down at the SFE 2024 AGM, Saverio was part of the SFE Board for almost 10 years in various positions and continues to support and promote the SFE and CIBSE its activities and values, and has brought a wealth of knowledge in the process using his experience from façade procurement to design, through production to final installation.

His commitment to the Society can be shown in his various high level roles within the SFE since 2015. Saverio was an SFE Board member between 2015-2017 and then served as Chair between 2017 to 2021, stepping into the role of Vice chair between 2021-2022 and Board member between 2022-2024 to ensure continuity within the Society. Saverio still remains active within the SFE, taking the mantle as Chair of Judges for the SFE Façade 2024 Design and Engineering Awards.

In her citation at the awards dinner, CIBSE CEO Ruth Carter read the following from SFE Chair Rimmy Vij.

'Saverio has played a crucial role as Chair of the Society of Façade Engineering, advocating for its recognition as a significant institution that highlights the importance of façade engineering in the construction industry. His efforts have strengthened SFE's relationship within the broader CIBSE network, dedicating considerable time to developing governing principles for SFE within CIBSE. Saverio leaves behind a legacy for future SFE leaders to build upon. Personally, I deeply appreciate the encouragement and his mentoring, and I am committed to deliver effectively in my current role as Chair of SFE.'

CIBSE would like to thank Saverio for the time, hard work and knowledge he has committed, which has greatly benefited the Society, CIBSE and industry as a whole. Without the work of Saverio and his fellow Society members, the SFE would not be where it is today- a high functioning and influential Institution operating around the globe.
