NIRODHA SIRIWARDENA

Niro is a project manager at CBRE focussing on the repositioning, refurbishment, improving the energy efficiency of commercial and retail assets. A mechanical engineer by trade, he finds himself getting involved in all aspects of projects in the built environment, from strategic planning all the way through to execution and close out.

He's a strong believer that excellence in the built environment is achieved through a joint effort in ensuring the spaces we build and occupy are safe, healthy, and are positioned to contribute to a sustainable present and future. With his involvement in CIBSE Young Engineers Network, he hopes to encourage the next generation of building services engineers to put forward only the best solutions for the built environment

With a Master of Business Administration (MBA) focused in Strategic Management from UTS, Nima is focused on delivering an exceptional customer experience and building long-term professional relationships with internal and external customers. He is a skilled business leader with experience in Negotiation, Budgeting, Operations Management, Customer Service and Strategic Planning. He thrives in a team environment and firmly believes in developing an outcomes focused organisation

With experience spanning corporate, professional body and tertiary sectors, Nicole is a skilled relationship and stakeholder manager, a certified project manager and an organisational coach with extensive operational knowledge of the full student engagement, recruitment and graduate development lifecycle, through to and including alumni engagement. Her career to date includes developing innovative approaches to student employability, championing women in STEM initiatives, developing engagement strategies, building graduate talent pipelines, and the design and delivery of content forming part of a Work Integrated Learning program. Nicole holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Monash University and is a Chartered Accountant.

MARIA MINGALLON

Maria Mingallon is an AI and digital innovation leader for Mott MacDonald in APAC, ANZ. With over 20 years of experience in the UK, Canada, and New Zealand, she has a Master's from the Architectural Association and AI certification from ColumbiaX. Her work in computational design and AI has earned her the 2015 Visionary Prize from Quebec Association of Consulting Engineers and Autodesk’s 2020 40 Under 40. As a co-founder of New Zealand’s Digital Users Group and an AI Forum NZ Executive Council member, she champions AI in the AEC sector.

DAVINA ROONEY
Chief Executive Officer, Green Building Council of Australia (GBCA)

A property professional with a passion for sustainability, Davina has led the Green Building Council of Australia since 2019. As a qualified engineer, Davina worked on large-scale construction projects in Sydney and London, and spent nearly a year building an award-winning school in the Himalayas. She devoted a decade to driving sustainability at one of Australia’s largest diversified property companies, Stockland, which culminated in Stockland’s recognition as the world’s most sustainable property company. Now leading a member organisation with 550-plus members with a combined value of $46 billion, Davina brings together practical knowledge, on-the-ground experience and a systematic approach to champion leadership in sustainable design and construction. Davina works with government and industry to advocate for supportive policy and transform complex supply chains. Building on a strong legacy of leadership, Davina is elevating the GBCA’s reach and impact into new markets. Davina is on the Board of Evolve Housing and the Australian Sustainable Built Environment Council, as well as Chairing the Sustainable Procurement Roundtable for the Sustainable Built Environment National Research Centre. The property industry has recognised Davina’s leadership with multiple awards.

Haico is a Building Physicist and certified architect and engineer, who has worked at Arup since 1997. Having been involved in building physics design for most of his career, Haico’s aim is to deliver outstanding sustainable design outcomes by integrating his experience in passive thermal strategies, natural daylight and building systems. With a passion for all things sustainable he is focused on achieving real change. One of Haico’s main objectives is to develop the field of architectural science successfully to obtain outstanding outcomes for building design.
