This presentation is focused on educating attendees about chemical free water treatment for sealed heating and chilled systems and gives them an opportunity to learn about the impacts of poor water quality and how the root causes can be addressed successfully.
Whilst it is relatively new to the UK, the VDI2035 standard and chemical free water treatment, which relies on natural science and not harsh traditional chemicals, has been used successfully for many decades on the continent.
An over view of what we will discuss ( but not limited to ) is :-
What are the requirements of VDI2035?
What is electrochemistry and how does it work?
The advantages over more traditional methods.
How can it be successfully implemented on existing and new systems?
What are the installation, operational and environmental benefits?
We will also be looking at the various forms of corrosion and the root causes.
Attendees will also have an opportunity following the presentation to raise questions or discuss further if they wish.

Simon Carpenter, Commercial Operations Manager
In the HVAC industry since leaving school, starting as a plumber, domestic gas engineer then progressing to become a commercial gas engineer. Set up his own business, providing commercial maintenance services mainly in the communal heating market, partnering with European manufacturers. Spending many years working on closed loop systems, it was clear that water treatment was critical to reliability and operation and had seen the failings of traditional chemical methods.
Gaining knowledge of the VDI and chemical free systems that had been used on the continent for many years, I worked to bring these methods and products to the UK as managing director of EleXion. Since having used these methods successfully on a number of projects in the UK, I have been working to educating the market on chemical free water treatment.
