Mastering heating and cooling hydraulics course

Total of 20 hours: 10 hours theory and 10 hours practical

In this course, you will learn to optimise hydraulic installations. Starting with the basics of hydraulic theory and calculations, you will learn to make your buildings future-proof, implement best practices and the reasoning behind them, save on CAPEX and OPEX costs, lower carbon emissions and optimise the comfort of your buildings. The common thread throughout this training is learning how to optimise the efficiency of your heating and cooling installations. 

During the course, we will be focusing more on the application of hydronics rather than the theory of hydronics. We will use the Hysopt software as a didactic tool to bring you this content but the training is not a software training in itself. The theory is followed by practical, exercises in the software, to help you put your learning into practice. The course is split up into five sections:

Session 1: Understanding the basics of hydraulics to close the performance gap (2x2 hours)

Session 2: Unlocking the potential of heating installation in existing buildings (2x2 hours)

Session 3: Designing hybrid plantrooms: Heat pumps (2x2hours)

Session 4: Designing hybrid plantrooms: CHP Installations (2x2 hours)

Session 5: Making the right choices when designing heat networks and communal heating systems with HIU’s (2x2 hours)

Advanced Course Heat Pump Course

2 hours theory and 2 hours exercises

This course focusses fully on heat pumps. Throughout the course a multitude of different topics will be covered, starting with a basic outline how heat pumps work and why the industry uses them. This is followed up by looking at the heat pump block in Hysopt which has multiple considerations in order to implement them correctly. The basics themselves, a correct parameterisation, some system theory surrounding the heat pump and also a discussion on the inspiration library templates.

Also covered is analysis on the different types of heat pumps available in the Hysopt software, as well as some important technical sidenotes.

This course will hand you all the knowledge you need to start mastering heat pumps design and implementation and includes practical exercises on the Hysopt software.
