This is the first in a three-series course designed to progress in detail and complexity from Entry and Intermediate-level through to Advanced audiences.

In this programme we explore the increased role of Building Management Systems in the modern built environment, as we strive for more intelligent, efficient, and connected buildings.

At the entry level we unpack some of the driving factors for intelligent buildings, including energy efficiency, space utilisation and building regs, before moving on to detail different components and elements of a BMS system; taking time to unpack a lot of the abbreviations with IT and OT technologies.

We then take a more detailed look at networks and protocols before finishing on the overall future direction for more intelligent buildings, i.e. increased adoption of cloud services, IOT & big data, and enterprise estate management.
