Principal Mechanical Engineer - Building Services

They are currently seeking a Principal Mechanical Design Engineer with 10+ years of experience within the built environment to join their Glasgow office.This is a unique and exciting opportunity for an engineer to help build up their own mechanical team, contributing to their overall growth and success plans of the wider business. Your New Role You will join the team as a Principal Mechanical Engineer. Your responsibilities will include: Leading the Mechanical team within the Glasgow office. Ensuring an understanding of project briefs. Design and specification of all Mechanical Building Services systems Conducting site surveys, inspections and monitoring of site works. Report and technical note writing. Ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, codes and standards. Lead projects from a design and commercial perspective, dealing with budgets, timelines etc. Contributing to the growth of the electrical team, including conducting candidate interviews. Contributing towards business development and strategy. What you'll need to succeed Degree qualified in Building Services Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent. Chartered Engineer (or working towards chartership) with CIBSE or IET. A minimum of 10 years of experience within Mechanical Building Services Design. An excellent technical level with engineering software such as IES, Hevacomp, AutoCAD, etc. A detailed knowledge of appropriate technical standards. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Strong leadership skills Ability to work on your own as well as within a wider multidisciplinary team. You must be eligible to obtain a security clearance due to MOJ/MOD contracts. Senior BIM/ Revit Technician
Your new companyIt is an award-winning building services consultancy which provides mechanical, electrical and public health design solutions with a particular focus on sustainability. Due to some key project wins, they are now looking to expand the BIM team. Your new role You will manage the London BIM for them and liaise with the Oxford team on templates etc. You will generally manage the models coming in on projects and prepare for the MEP Engineers (BIM) team to work on. You will then review their work and upload etc. You will assist on specific projects including co-ordination, and you will have the option to improve your MEP Engineering skills. There is a good chance to develop into a management role very quickly. What you'll need to succeed To succeed in the role, you will have a minimum of three years' UK Revit/ BIM experience within an M&E consultancy and be able to work from the London office 3 days per week. You must be able to maintain and enforce systems and manage BIM models on projects as well as experience with MEP coordination across numerous projects at once. Your new role Your new role will see you working as a Senior Electrical Building Services Engineer, completing conceptual and detailed design using DIALux, RELux, AMtech, AutoCAD or Revit.
