Senior Engineer
Your new company Your new company has over 75 years of engineering experience and is a household name in the world of engineering design and has city centre offices across the UK, Europe and Australia. Their Manchester office (M2 postcode) is located next to public transport hubs and close to off-street car parking. Your new company is currently working on a shed load of commercial, education, health and residential schemes across the UK. Although you'll be joining a company that turns over £130m, the MEP team in Manchester is moderately sized with 8 staff across M&E who work 37.5 hours per week across the above-mentioned sectors. Your new role Your new role will see you working as a Senior Electrical Building Services Engineer completing conceptual and detailed design using DIALux, RELux, AMtech, AutoCAD or Revit. You will be based in Manchester city centre. However, your projects will be across the UK. You will be interacting with internal and external stakeholders, attending client meetings and site visits. This role, although involving a heavy design aspect, is for someone who enjoys the full process of consultancy: design, client facing, stakeholder management, and costing. What you'll need to succeed To succeed with an application in this role, you will have a minimum of 3 years' UK Building Services design experience and full UK working rights with the ability to obtain Security Clearance. The team meet at the offices 5 days per week, so the ability to travel to Manchester City Centre is a must. You will also possess a full UK-valid driving licence. Your new roleIt is as a Senior/ Principal Electrical Engineer that can carry out engineering design, the management of projects and small teams, working on multiple projects including multi-million pound schemes. You will support the directors by developing standards within the company, taking the lead in managing projects utilising your experience. You will act as design lead on projects, promoting design excellence, and you will mentor and develop the skills of the engineers in the team. What you'll need to succeedYou will have a strong technical core competence and background in project delivery. In addition, you will have a broad understanding of the principles of building services and other related building design disciplines and a desire to mentor and lead a team of Engineers.You must also be- Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering/Building Services. Proven experience (6+ years) in electrical engineering design within the building services industry. Experience leading and developing senior and more junior engineers. Comfortable in a client-facing role and willing to contribute to business development activities. Experience leading teams on large-scale and often complex projects. Experience in the delivery of all phases of a project from inception to completion, but specifically, design and quality control focused and dealing directly with the customer and project teams. Experience and awareness of major digital engineering tools, such as CAD/Revit, and Amtech. You will also have experience of delivering projects in a BIM environment. Electrical Design Engineer - To £45K + Package I'm looking for an Intermediate Electrical Design Engineer to join an 80 strong, employee-owned multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy in London, that specialises in low carbon building design. Over the past 15years, they've developed a reputation for designing and delivering unique projects such as theatres, museums, galleries, schools, castles, cinemas, churches, universities and other listed buildings. Working as part of their 25 strong London office (multi-disciplinary engineers) you'll enjoy working on one off projects from concept to construction, typically with a construction value of £5M - £40M. You will be expected to be able to manage your own time and deliverables, mentor and help develop Graduate and Junior engineers, attend design team meetings, attend site meetings, and liaise directly with clients, architects and specialist external consultants. The ideal Electrical Design Engineer will have a minimum of three years' experience and some previous experience working with well-known London based Architects.
