Prepare detailed specifications, schedules, drawings and other contract documents in accordance with RIBA stages. Input into pre-qualification and selection of contractors, tendering procedures and tender review. Liaise with clients, professionals, contractors, suppliers and other design team members. Identify and meet the needs and expectations of clients and mentor and inspire younger colleagues and engineers. Skills: Excellent communication skills in written and spoken English who is able to inspire, influence and negotiate. You must be able to make decisions, act on your own initiative and operate in a pro-active and professional way. As a key person within the team, you will be liaising directly with clients to formulate initial design strategies as well as managing projects from inception, through construction to project completion. Requirements: Relevant experience in electrical engineering design, including areas such as power supplies, PV/EVC, lighting and alarm systems 3-5 years of experience in a consulting engineering environment You must be fully conversant with the IET Regulations, Building Regulations, BREEAM and the principles of sustainable and low carbon design and be competent with electrical engineering calculations (Amtech/Trimble, Relux, etc). Your new roleIt is as a Senior/ Principal Electrical Engineer that can carry out engineering design, the management of projects and small teams, working on multiple projects including multi-million pound schemes. You will support the directors by developing standards within the company, taking the lead in managing projects utilising your experience. You will act as design lead on projects, promoting design excellence, and you will mentor and develop the skills of the engineers in the team. What you'll need to succeedYou will have a strong technical core competence and background in project delivery. In addition, you will have a broad understanding of the principles of building services and other related building design disciplines and a desire to mentor and lead a team of Engineers.You must also be- Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering/Building Services. Proven experience (6+ years) in electrical engineering design within the building services industry. Experience leading and developing senior and more junior engineers. Comfortable in a client-facing role and willing to contribute to business development activities. Experience leading teams on large-scale and often complex projects. Experience in the delivery of all phases of a project from inception to completion, but specifically, design and quality control focused and dealing directly with the customer and project teams. Electrical Design Engineer - To £45K + Package I'm looking for an Intermediate Electrical Design Engineer to join an 80 strong, employee-owned multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy in London, that specialises in low carbon building design. Over the past 15years, they've developed a reputation for designing and delivering unique projects such as theatres, museums, galleries, schools, castles, cinemas, churches, universities and other listed buildings. Working as part of their 25 strong London office (multi-disciplinary engineers) you'll enjoy working on one off projects from concept to construction, typically with a construction value of £5M - £40M. You will be expected to be able to manage your own time and deliverables, mentor and help develop Graduate and Junior engineers, attend design team meetings, attend site meetings, and liaise directly with clients, architects and specialist external consultants. The ideal Electrical Design Engineer will have a minimum of three years' experience and some previous experience working with well-known London based Architects.
